<Visit of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Seoul to AIIS>

On July 2, 2026, AIIS welcomed a delegation from the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Seoul and discussed possible areas of cooperation between the two sides.

The visit was arranged at the request of the SNU Office of International Affairs, providing an opportunity to exchange views on international joint research, academic exchange, and researcher exchange in AI, among other potential areas of future cooperation.

The meeting was attended by AIIS Director Lee Jae-wook and Deputy Director Park Jin-ho, while the Royal Norwegian Embassy was represented by Ambassador Anne Kari Hansen Øyvind and Hilde Haaland-Kramer, Counsellor for Higher Education, Research and Innovation.

The two sides held a wide-ranging exchange of views on possible cooperation in AI research and talent development, as well as ways to expand exchange between Seoul National University and universities and research institutions in Norway.

They also shared a common understanding of the importance of using AI technology to address future societal challenges and of international research cooperation, and agreed to continue building a lasting cooperative relationship.
