On Friday, July 10, AIIS held a special lecture featuring Dinesh Manocha, Distinguished University Professor at the University of Maryland, College Park, USA.

The lecture was held under the title “Audio General Intelligence: Simulation, Understanding, and Audio Large Language Models.”

Professor Dinesh Manocha introduced the latest research trends in Audio General Intelligence and Audio Large Language Models (Audio LLMs), explaining directions for next-generation AI technology capable of understanding and reasoning about diverse audio data, including speech, environmental sound, and music.

He also shared key technologies and real-world applications of audio-based generative AI, and engaged in an in-depth discussion of future research directions and technical challenges.

The lecture was organized to share the latest research achievements of a world-renowned researcher with members of the Seoul National University community and to expand the foundation for research cooperation in audio AI.

Following the lecture, attendees engaged in an active question-and-answer session on Audio LLMs, audio-based reasoning technology, and directions for multimodal AI research, creating a valuable opportunity for academic exchange.

AIIS plans to continue hosting lectures by leading global researchers and pursuing international academic exchange programs, strengthening research competitiveness in AI and expanding its global research cooperation network.
