<Visit of the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) to AIIS>

On January 21, 2026, representatives from the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) visited AIIS for discussions on research exchange and cooperation in AI.

The visit was aimed at expanding international cooperation in AI and introducing AFRL's research funding programs, and served as an opportunity to explore possibilities for cooperation between the two institutions and to lay the groundwork for future joint research and academic exchange.

The meeting was attended by AIIS Director Lee Jae-wook along with Professors Kim Hyun-jin, Shin Sang-jun, and Cho Nam-hoon of the SNU Department of Aerospace Engineering.

The two sides exchanged wide-ranging views on funding directions and major research portfolios in AI and quantum science.
