<Memorandum of Understanding between AIIS and MegaData Korea>

On April 10, AIIS (Director Lee Jae-wook) and MegaData Korea Co., Ltd. (Vice Chairman Kim Kyung-soo) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to strengthen national sovereign AI competitiveness and foster the AI industry ecosystem.

The agreement was designed to link the two institutions' research capabilities and advanced infrastructure to build a close industry-academia cooperation system, and to secure core source technologies and cultivate outstanding talent in AI.

The two institutions plan to jointly participate in the development of national advanced strategic technologies — including large language models (LLMs), domestically developed NPUs, Physical AI, and medical AI transformation (AX) — using MegaData Korea's “Wonju Mega Cluster AI Data Center,” currently under development in Wonju, as a core testbed.

They will also carry out demonstration and validation research, and cooperate on cultivating AI convergence talent by linking venture and startup companies with AI education programs centered on “Ground M,” the business support facility within the AI data center.
