AIIS successfully hosted a special lecture by Bryan Catanzaro, Vice President of Applied Deep Learning Research at NVIDIA.
The lecture was organized to share the latest research trends amid the rapidly changing AI technology landscape and to explore practical avenues for cooperation between academia and industry.
Held on April 22 at AIIS, the lecture drew strong interest, with around 500 faculty, students, and other university members in attendance.
Vice President Bryan Catanzaro delivered his talk under the title “Researcher's Toolkit: Open Models, Datasets, and Techniques.”
He noted that “AI research is evolving rapidly through the combination of open models, data, and high-performance computing infrastructure,” adding that “it is more important than ever to support researchers in making effective use of these tools.”
He also observed that as AI technology spreads across industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, and autonomous driving, the importance of academia-industry cooperation is growing, stressing the need to build an ecosystem in which research outcomes can be quickly connected to real-world industrial applications.
AIIS plans to use this event as an opportunity to further strengthen its cooperative foundation with NVIDIA and other leading global AI companies.
At the same time, it aims to expand convergence research and the cultivation of outstanding talent, contributing to the development of Korea's AI ecosystem.
