On Thursday, July 30, AIIS held an exchange event at the Haedong Advanced Engineering Building, welcoming a delegation from the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), and sharing an introduction to the Institute and its AI research infrastructure.
The event was attended by AIIS officials including Director Lee Jae-wook, Deputy Director for Research Kwak No-jun, and Deputy Director for Planning Park Jin-ho, together with a delegation including Cho Jung-ran, NRF's Japan Office Director, and Yasuda, a manager at JST.
The event opened with welcoming remarks and introductions of attendees, followed by a presentation on AIIS's research vision, key research areas, and international cooperation activities.
The subsequent question-and-answer session featured lively discussion on the latest research trends in AI, international joint research, and the establishment and operation of research infrastructure.
The delegation then toured the Embodied AI R&D Cluster, the Robotics Institute, and the Battery Innovation Research Institute, among other facilities, to observe the research infrastructure and its use.
The visit served as an opportunity to expand exchange between Korean and Japanese research support institutions and researchers, and to strengthen the foundation for international joint research and cooperation in AI.
AIIS plans to continue expanding its global AI research network through ongoing cooperation with overseas research institutions and research support agencies, and to work toward building a world-class research ecosystem.
